Another great stop you should check out during your stay in the famous Muir Woods. This journey invites you to walk with old redwoods through this breathtaking forest. If you are like me, then you probably grew up camping with the family in a tree-filled campground that seemed to transport you to the heart of nature. If you did, then these parking lot-type parks may not be what you are looking for. The Vineyard RV Park is a bit farther to San Francisco than the rest of the parks on this list, but because of the tree-filled park, we had to add it. You will understand why moments into your visit, together with the super friendly park attendants, this is sure to be a stay to remember.

The list of activities this RV park offers is amazing, from a swimming pool, kids playground, fitness center, volleyball and horseshoe pits, and of course, the clubhouse. Everyone is sure to keep busy here. Are you thinking of bringing your pets with you? They are not only pet friendly but offer two very spacious off-leash dog parks where your four-legged friends can run free and make some friends. Believe it or not, they also offer an agility park so your buddy can learn some new tricks.

This RV park is conveniently located close to all the must-do’s California has to offer, from Napa and Sonoma Valley vineyards to Sacramento and, of course, San Francisco. Find yourself staring at the famous Golden Gate Bridge or taking a trip to the scary yet exciting Alcatraz. However, if you just want to spend some time at the park is one with nature, curled up below one of the huge mature trees with a good book in hand, this is the place to do it.
